OUR TEAM
Collaboration is the through line at Melnick & Melnick, S.C. We value collaboration with our clients and with each other because we know two heads are better than one. We have the experience and expertise to help small businesses grow legally.
And what’s more we love what we do. We work hard to protect our clients’ brands, draft understandable and enforceable contracts, and resolve disputes. And we value client relationships—we eat at clients’ restaurants, visit our clients’ stores, order our clients’ products, and use their services. Being your lawyer and trusted advisor is personal to us.

Stephanie, owner of Melnick & Melnick, S.C. has been practicing law over 30 years. Stephanie loves taking a deep dive into clients’ businesses to learn what makes them tick. She also relishes a well-written (short and simple) contract and is pleased to draft and negotiate all kinds, including leases, operating agreements, and terms of service. Protecting clients’ clever brands, logos, and slogans also gives Stephanie a charge and writing cease and desist letters fills her heart with joy. Disputes are inevitable in business and Stephanie leads the firm’s litigation and dispute resolution efforts.
Stephanie teaches Small Business Week of the Lawyering Skills Class at her alma mater, the University of Wisconsin Law School, since 2021. She presented about business legal issues, entrepreneurship, legal writing, and women in the law at events hosted by, for example, WWBIC, the State Bar of Wisconsin, Wisconsin Technology Council, National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), Doyenne Group, and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Continuing Education. Stephanie has also written for various publications, including the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and Wisconsin Lawyer. In 2024, the Wisconsin Law Journal named Stephanie a Legal All-Star Honoree.
Stephanie founded She Stands Tall in 2017 to build a community of women entrepreneurs. Since its inception, She Stands Tall has hosted hundreds of events, started a mastermind for women entrepreneurs, took over Woman’s Entrepreneurship Week, and created a Women Owned business directory.
Sarah joined Melnick & Melnick, S.C. in 2014 after graduating from Marquette University Law School. Her practice focuses on business law, contracts, and trademark matters. She is particularly passionate about supporting women entrepreneurs and local businesses, aligning her legal practice with her personal commitment to community engagement.
In April 2025, Sarah was honored as one of the Wisconsin Law Journal’s “2025 Women in the Law,” a recognition celebrating her dedication to empowering women-owned businesses and her contributions to the legal profession.
Sarah is a regular presenter on legal topics for Wisconsin Women's Business Initiative Corporation (WWBIC) and serves as guest lecturer along with Stephanie at the UW Law School's Lawyering Skills class.
